"Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities."
Each week, we have talked about one or two of these principles, and how we can work better at incorporating them into our family life. This past Monday was the culminating week....where we talked about wholesome recreational activities......we came up with a new Saturday plan....it is actually not much different from what my family did growing up....but it has taken me a while to get everyone on board....including myself.....anyway, we have decided that "The family that works together, plays together!" On Monday we each put a "Sunny day activity" and a "rainy day activity" into a bucket.... we will pick from the bucket and do one activity each Saturday afternoon, after we have completed a family chore in the morning. Sorry, no pictures of us scrubbing the toilets....but, here is a picture of our activity from yesterday....it happened to be the one that Kayleigh put in.....we played with shaving cream!!! (FYI....we said the stippulation on the activities going into the bucket was it had to be free, and couldn't be watching TV!!!)
