Proof is in the.....

TOMATOS!!!! I have just decided today that I am NOT a bad mom for having a son that will not eat fruits and veges!.....and, the proof is that my 4 year old daughter just ate 5 tomatoes that were sliced up with salt and pepper on it for lunch today!!! So, I just have a son that doesn't eat well, but it is not because of my lack of offering! Thank you Kayleigh!!!--for the record, the tomatoes were small roma tomatos from our garden...but still, she ate them!!!

Prayer

I have to let you in on something cute that happened in primary today. I am Kayleigh's teacher. Today we had a lot of kids in our class, so I had to hold Kayleigh so there was enough room for all of us to sit. Anyway, the sharing time was about prayer....and they asked if you prayed, and if Heavenly Father Hears your prayers, and how you know He hears your prayers.

Anyway, as they are asking these questions, I lean to Kayleigh and repeat them, b/c in primary the kids are usually louder than the one talking....so I was just repeating so Kayleigh could hear.

It went something like this:

Keri--"Do you pray to Heavenly Father?"
Kayleigh--"Yes"
Keri--"Does he hear your prayers?"
Kayleigh--"Yes"
Keri--"How do you know he hears your prayers?"
Kayleigh--"Because I pray out loud."

BFF Party

Jessica's BFF (best friend forever) is moving in a couple of weeks. Oh, it is going to be a sad day here! Anyway, she wanted to have a BFF surprise party for her....so, today we had Marina (our next door neighbor) and Annastasia (the girl who is moving) over for a BFF party. These three walk to school together everyday....Jessica and Annastasia are together all the time, and Marina joins them when she can....these three are great friends. We are going to miss Annastasia and her family when they move to Hawaii in a couple of weeks....but, we know it is the best for them....as their dad is in the millitary, and if this transfer did not happen, the other option was he would be sent back to Iraq for the 3rd time......so, as sad as it will be to say good bye, Jessica knows that it is the best for them. Jessica bought each of them a new BFF teddy bear.

Jessica and Annastasia....they will enjoy the last couple of weeks they have together....luckily Annastasia's family has family ties here....so, hopefully we will see them when they come to visit family.....although, we have family ties in Hawaii, and that doesn't help us much in getting out there!!!
Jessica and Marina decorated a cake....it has all the Jonas brother names on it....all of the girls names on it, BFFL (best friends for Life), and other things all over the cake!!!

Kayleigh's first day of school!!

Two weeks after Jessica and Jared went back to school....it was finally Kayleigh's turn to start her new school year! Two weeks seemed like FOREVER to this poor little girl! She was sooooo ready, and so excited to go! Her only disappointment that day was she really wanted to wear her new long pants and long sleeve sweatshirt outfit we had gotten a few days before that....but, given it was 90 degree weather, I just couldn't let her do that....she quickly got over it when i told her she could wear her favorite blue outfit.....this girl is all about blue!!!

Phantom of the Opera!!!!

It has been a long wait, but we finally got to go see Phantom of the Opera last night!!!! We went with our friends, the Gallups. It was, of course, a tremendous production! It amazes me what they can do with all those talented people....from the voices, the acting, the orchestra pit, etc. I just love it! It was a wonderful night for us!!!!

Tomatoes anyone???

Ok, so I can't really take credit for this....I owe it all to Matthew that we have fresh tomatoes....straight from our garden!!! Matthew is so good each year to try a garden....I sort of hum and hah about it, but he is the one that gets us to do it....this year, like every other year, I am very happy that he had us do it.....especially now that we are enjoying the fruits of our labor! This year we only got tomatoes, scallions and peas....we planted more stuff, but it snowed a week later.....we probably could have planted again, but we never did....next year, we will plant more....and, I will try to be more supportive about it from the beginning!!!....Because things grow really well out here!!! Another reason I love living here!!!!

First Day of School!

Tuesday, Sept. 2 was the kids first day of school. Jared and Jessica before leaving for school....Jessica doesn't look too excited....does she?
Kayleigh wont start school until Sept. 15, but she just had to get in the pictures!!!
Jessica....a 7th grader???? Can that be possilbe????
Jared.....off to 2nd grade. So far, he is loving it....well, at least the unit on bugs they are doing for the first 5-6 weeks of school!!!!

And Kayleigh....will be in preschool again!!!--She sure does miss having Jared and Jessica around....although, she doesn't admit it!!! The neighborhood kids that Jessica and Jared walk to school with. (plus Kayleigh!)

Jared was not too excited about school, but once he saw his best friend, Logan, and got in line, he seemed to feel a little better about things!!!
