END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR

For those of you with kids in school, I am sure you can relate.....the end of the school year always seems so busy....and yet, I wouldn't trade those busy days for anything....because they are soooo much fun!!!

Jared's Baptism

The end of May, and June have been wonderful, busy, and special for our family. Of course, Jared turned 8 at the beginning of May....along with that, he started scouts, and he was Baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a special weekend for us. Grandma and Grandpa Christensen drove here from Utah. They arrived Friday night, and left Sunday morning. It was a quick, yet very special visit. We had a lot of fun in the few hours they were here. Liz and Travis and family were here, as well. Alisa and Ryan showed up Saturday evening....as they are moving up to Lacey!!

Memorial Day

We had a fun Memorial Day! My sister, Liz, and her husband, Travis have just moved to Oregon!!! Only 45 minutes away from us!!! Her husband just finished dental school (congrats, Dr. T!) and he is getting ready to join his dad's practice.....they are staying with Travis' parents until they can get into a place of their own....so, we were invited to join the memorial day party!!! I was sooooo excited to see my sister, and meet her new baby.....the kids were excited to see their cousins, as well as swim in the pool! It was a fun party.....but, can you believe I didn't get a picture of my sister....guess we will have to get together again!!! (she did come up my way today....the kids got to play together while we visited.....I am going to love having family close by!!!!) Jessica enjoyed holding baby Miles....he is soooo cute!....love his smile!
we couldn't get the kids out of the pool....I think they were in there for 4 hours straight....and that is not exagerating!!! They were fish!!!

Jared decided he wanted to try to jump off the diving board....and after doing it once, he kept doing it....over and over and over again!!! He loved it!!!

You know you're a runner when.....

You ask for (and get) a good pair of running shoes for mother's day!!! Thank you Matthew and kids!!!....after dealing with shin splints, I had been told by many runners, that if I was really going to be a runner, I should invest in a good pair of running shoes. After taking a few weeks off from running to let the shin splints heal a little, I decided that I AM A RUNNER!!! (huh? did I really just say that???).....It just feels so good to complete a good run!!! so, I asked for a pair of running shoes....Matthew has an account with Adidas, so I was able to get a nice pair of Adistars, using the employee 50% off discount!!!)....I am loving them!!!

WEIGHT LOSS MILE STONE!!!

Many of you probably know I have been trying to lose weight for several months now....well, I have not yet made it to my final goal....but, I have made it to a HUGE mile stone goal for me! I can wear my wedding ring again! It has been at least 3 years since I have been able to wear it, due to weight.....one of my minor goals was to have this ring back on my hand.....I was hoping it would happen by our 14th anniversary that we celebrated a couple of weeks ago....I missed that by 2 weeks, but it is on, and I can claim my husband again!!!.....or he can claim me!!!!

Happy 8th Birthday, Jared!!!

Jared turned 8 yesterday!!! (Of course, 8 is a big mile stone for him, as it means he will get to be baptized....for anyone in the area, his baptism will be Saturday, June 6.) It was a busy morning (I had a RS stake womens conference to go to, and Matthew brought Kayleigh to a friends birthday party in the morning), but we made time to celebrate!!! We told Jared before we went our seperate ways that he could open his presents.

After Matthew got home, he and Jared worked on building the Darth Vader Lego star wars fighter ship.

I think it turned out quite well!!!

Ok, so truth of the cake....Jared wanted a pirate ship....I made/decorated it on Friday night. It was probabl my favorite cake I have ever done....I had pirates on the boat, as you can see, i decorated the pan blue, for water....it was just a fun cake....then I came down Saturday morning to find it split in 1/2. (cry, cry)....sweet Jared, though....when I told him sorry, and he saw it, he said, "hey, that is pretty cool....it looks like the shark attacked the boat!" I have to admit, it did sort of look like while we were sleeping the pirates came to life, and had a battle while we were sleeping, that destroyed the ship. Thank goodness I have a son with quite the imagination....he still loved his cake!!! It did sort of look like some of the broken down looking ships in the pirates of the carribean ride at disney land....so, i suppose it turned out ok....i just really wish i had a picture of it before it broke!!!

well, we are done with our "birthday season"....time to stop eating cake and get serious about dieting again!!!

8 years apart, but in the same class

When you have daughters that are 8 years apart, you never would guess that they would be in the same class at school....but, for 1 period every M, W, and F Kayleigh and Jessica are in the same class....Jessica has Kayleigh's preschool teacher for one of her classes, as she is a TA from the middle school, and gets to help in the preschool! I was visiting preschool today, and decided to document this with a picture!!!
