"My Logan!!"

Kayleigh was so happy to have "her Logan" over to play a few weeks ago!! You see, Jared has a friend named Logan, and Kayleigh has a friend named Logan, so whenever this Logan comes over to play, Kayleigh walks around the house saying, "MY Logan" came to play with me!! This time, her Logan was here while his mom was in the hospital having his new baby sister....so, this post is mostly for his mom, so she can see what they did....ok, a couple of things, anyway! It was an early morning (actually middle of the night) call that I got....I went over and slept the rest of the night at their house until Logan woke up, then brought him to our house for the day! It was a fun day....I took Logan on a walk to see the ducks while Kayleigh was at school, then Kayleigh and Logan ate lunch....after lunch it was supposed to be Logan's nap time, but that didn't really happen....he and Kayleigh were more interested in playing!!! It was a fun day!

Fudge Recipe

I am an activity day leader for the 10 and 11 year old girls in our ward. Our last activity we had a cookie/recipe exchange....one of the girls brought some cream cheese fudge that is super yummy! I was happy to be in charge of our FHE dessert tonight so I could make it for my family....I am not one that can make a good batch of fudge...but this is sooooo easy!!! I just got done making it, and thought I would post the recipe.



CREAM CHEESE FUDGE

1 lb. powdered sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cube butter
3 oz. cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla

*mix all ingredients until smooth (I would suggest using a heavy mixer...my hand beaters did it, but towards the end, I was afraid it was going to burn the motor)

*roll in waxed paper, and refrigerate until ready to eat. (you are making a "log" of fudge in the wax paper)

Go BRUINS!!!!

I am not sure what Matthew was most happy about....that he had his whole family watching a BOSTON BRUINS HOCKEY game....or that the BRUINS pulled off a MUCH NEEDED WIN....taking them to game 7 of a 7 game series in the first round of Hockey playoffs!!! It was an EXCITING game!!! I don't know if I can handle a game 7.....let's just hope the outcome is as good as it was tonight....and, let me just say, it was fun to watch as a family....Matthew may get some hockey fans in his family afterall! The kids were cute, and pretty excited about it....although, they did think he was a little loud!!!!

A Surprise Visitor!!!

Last Saturday, while we were out on a family outing....just "window shopping" at IKEA, and getting a few things we needed from Home Depot (both stores happen to be by the airport), we decided to let Jared see the airplains up close....so, Matthew looped around the airport......well, as we got to the passenger pick up area, he started pulling up to the curb....I was feeling sorry for the lady standing on the side of the curb, sure she would be scared to death that some random car was pulling up along side of her, only to realize that wasn't just "some lady".....that was MY SISTER!!!!!????? I could not believe it.....I had NO IDEA she was coming....I jumped out of the car, and really made a fool of myself screaming, and acting hysterical....but, I was shocked to see her, and VERY VERY EXCITED!!!! I asked Matthew if he knew about this....DUH!!!! Of course he knew about it....that was why we were there....but, he was the only one of us to know!!! I have to say, that is the best surprise I have ever had.....Thanks Alisa for coming....I needed that! And, thanks Ryan for letting her come! I know it is hard to be away from each other when you are newly weds.

We brought Alisa to one of our favorite waterfall areas.....the weather was gorgeous (on saturday).....we were able to fool her for one day, then the rain set in on Monday.....I think she was sold on moving to this part of the country some day....but with the rain, it may take a little more work from Liz and I!!!

Jared thought it was cool to have his personal teacher with him for a weekend! Alisa is a 2nd grade teacher....this was her spring break time....but, we put her to work, and she helped Jared with his homework!!!
Jared and Kayleigh thought it was fun that Alisa would sit and play play station with them for a while on Sunday morning!
Alisa made us some of her much talked about oatmeal bread.....Yummy!!!!

Kayleigh's Birthday

Alisa was here for Kayleigh's fourth birthday! Let me tell you, Kayleigh loved her day!!! She kept holding up 4 fingers and just grinned all day! She kept say Alisa was her friend, here for her party....we didn't have a party for her, but she kept saying this was her party, so we went along with it!!! We let her open presents first thing in the morning. It was all about BLUE this year!!! A blue care bear from Grandma and Grandpa, a blue ball, and a blue webkinz hippo....life couldn't be better!!!
Alisa and I went to visit Kayleigh at her school. I had also gone to get her some helium balloons to have at home when she got home from school....and, there she sat on the couch watching her favorite show, holding her balloons, wearing her blue birthday crown from school....with her blue care bear, webkinz and ball near by!!!!
Kayleigh wanted to go to McDonalds for her birthday dinner!

Cake time....and yes, this was also a blue cake....with blue flowers and blue writing....that was her request!!! We love her!!!

Spring Break

Our kids had spring break the first week in April. We didn't do much. Jared went to a friends house one day....so we took advantage and went shopping for Jessica for summer clothes....one day Jessica had some friends over....that day was the sunniest, warmest day....so we packed a lunch and headed to a park for a while....and this was our biggest outing....Matthew took 1/2 day off (sort of....he had to make a work delivery, so we did that, then we headed to the beach)....anyway, we went to Tillamook to see the beach, and also to go inside the cheese Factory. Jared loves robots and robotics, so he was amazed by all the machines...we all enjoyed it, but I think this was really his favorite!!! We had fun walking along the beach. It was super windy....we had brought a ball to kick around on the beach, but it ended up being caught in the wind, and blew away....so, I got to chase it....entertainment for my family and for anyone else who happened to be watching!!! It was a fun outing, and a fun week!

On our way to the beach, we encountered a deer in the middle of the road. Luckily, we were on a very curvy road at the time, and we were going slow, so we didn't hit it....but it was right in the middle of the road....by the time I got the camera out, it had moved to the side, but it was fun to see!

We thought this was funny....we drove through snow to get to the beach!!!
