Fort Lewis 10 K

Yesterday I ran in my first official race! It was a 10 K up at Fort Lewis....about an hour and a half north of us. My brother-in-law, Ryan, told me about it....he ran in it, too. How fitting, given that he was the one that had me start running back in January!!! It was a fun race.....my goal was to finish, and I did! I did it in the time I thought I would....maybe about 5 minutes less! I ran the WHOLE time! It felt good! I plan to run in more races....hopefully a 1/2 marathon at some point! Halloween Fun.....

Friday Night.....Trick or Treating down main street.....we did this last year, and again this year. I LOVE it!!! I think it is such a fun thing for a small town to do.

Grandma and Grandpa sent the kids a card and some money and said for them to pick a way to spend their money on a special Halloween treat, since they couldn't be around to treat them....so, Jared and Kayleigh decided they wanted McDonalds for dinner. (we don't do this often, so it was a super fun treat for them).....(Jessica was with Annastasia at her aunt's house....she is saving her $ for a Sheridan's treat)

Saturday Night.....we did some trick or treating in the neighborhood, and also went to the church for some trunk or treat.....now the kids are enjoying their CANDY!!! (I have made up a game for myself.....i am calling it mind over matter....the mind is telling me not to eat....the matter is the candy......i had a piece from each kid last night, and i am done.....i am determined to win this game....so far, so good, but today was fast Sunday :)!!!!)

Pumpkin Carving/painting

What could be better than having a friend come for a visit?.....

....How about having a BEST FRIEND come for a visit. Jessica's best friend, Annastasia (and her family) came for a visit....they moved to Hawaii about a year ago.....they are in a year round school, so came to visit their aunt here in Battle Ground. Annastasia has spent some time....ok, a lot of time with us!!! We love having her around. They are relying on military stand by to get them home.....because of that, they have been here a lot longer than originally expected. Jessica and Annastasia have been doing all kinds of stuff together.....getting together in the afternoons after school, having weekend long sleepovers, Annastasia has gone to church with us, joined us on outings to the waterfalls, joined us for Family Home Evenings, and other family outings.....she has definitely earned a spot in our family. It will be a sad day when she has to go back to Hawaii.....in the meantime we (especially Jessica) will enjoy having her around.

To laugh or not to laugh.....that is the question

While shopping at a store today, that is undergoing a major re-model, I overheard one side of a phone conversation of one of the workers who was busy unpacking boxes/stocking shelves.....just thought I would share it with my blogging friends......

"Yeah, I have a white shirt"
"Yeah, I have a back pack"
"I even have a bike"

"Yeah, I think I could pull off dressing up like a Mormon."

WHO TO LISTEN TO......

Why do I feel like I can relate????? On one side (an hour and a half north of me), I have my sister, Alisa and her husband, Ryan who I have been using since January as my personal "Bob and Jillian" (biggest loser) trainers. I report to them (almost) every Monday as to my progress....they have been great.
On the other side (45 minutes south of me) I have her Evil Twin (sorry, Liz).....brings me her kids for a week (don't get me wrong, love the kids, but it throws my exercise routine off), then rewards me with treats from Hawaii!!!

I NEED HELP......AREN'T TWINS SUPPOSED TO WORK TOGETHER.....C'MON LADIES, HELP ME OUT A LITTLE......I GUESS IN THE MEANT TIME I WILL LISTEN TO BOTH!!!
